Get Over Yourself

UK Retreat

Not everyone can afford the time or money to go abroad for a week and so I wanted to make it a lot more accessible and affordable so more people could experience the power of combining juice and fitness…while building a new found self-belief and confidence.

What will I experience on a Retreat?

  • 3 Freshly made juices a day and 1 soup

  • Learn to Nordic Walk – poles provided

  • Bodypump

  • Body Rocker Bootcamp

  • Tabata

  • Insanity

  • Restorative Yoga

  • Bodybalance

  • Guided Meditation

  • Juice & Mindfulness talks

  • A beautiful location with amazing walks by the river

  • Lots of support and understanding

  • A lot of laughter…it is after all, the best medicine!

Please do not let this level of activity put you off.

I cater for all levels of fitness from the super fit to someone who hasn’t exercised for a few years!!

The Retreats are structured in such a way to make them manageable.
I have seen literally hundreds of people complete the 3 days, all ages, fitness levels and body types!

You are going to gain such a sense of satisfaction and new found pride and love of yourself.

Any weight loss really does become the bonus.

You will leave with so much more…Trust me!

“I’ve been on your retreats twice and found your style and messages freeing. In a world of mixed messages your no BS approach was much needed!”

“What a brilliant weekend loved every minute of it. First time I’ve ever been anywhere on my own, everyone made me feel so welcome. I feel amazing and I can’t believe how much I have achieved. I really am feeling so inspired! Thank you!”

Force of Nature

“When you go on one of Sally‘s retreats you don’t get a fluffy white towelling robe, or slippers, or a fancy spa or even the option as to whether you join in in the fitness activities or not. But what you do get is Sally. A proper force of nature who will make you commit to doing what you signed up on her retreat for. She will make sure you get the most out of every moment! I came away having lost a few pounds. I got over myself and I got fit, and made some great friends! An incredible weekend. What are you waiting for?”

“Sally has helped me make the changes in my life that I didn’t think I could do on my own, both mentally and physically. She is a true inspiration even when things aren’t going to plan. I can’t thank her enough for helping me get my life back.”

Where is the Retreat based?

At Halton Mill, in the Village of Halton near Lancaster.
It is in a beautiful location right on the River Lune with some lovely walks from the doorstep.
It is next door to an Eco Housing development and is run by a Co- Operative.
It is rustic, environmentally conscious (run on renewable fuels) and has a wonderful community feel.
It has ‘heart and soul’ by the bucket load!
It is just 4.5 miles from Lancaster Train Station which is on the main London to Scotland line.

Does the price include accommodation?
No, the nearest hotels are The Holiday Inn and The Premier Inn which are at the Motorway junction. They are a 1.4 mile walk down a well lit cycle path (beautiful walk!) or literally just a few minutes by car.

The Holiday Inn does have some lovely facilities…pool, sauna and steam!
Both hotels also do tend to offer deals, especially out of season so do check their websites. If you are arriving by car there are plenty more guest houses in Lancaster and Morecambe to choose from.

I am worried about coming on my own
This is totally understandable and some guests do arrive full of fear. They soon realise though that they really had no need to be. Most guests do come on their own. Within minutes of being welcomed you will feel comfortable and at home with like minded people. I promise to look after you and make you feel at ease as soon as possible…TRUST ME!
What are the start and finish times?

Friday 10:00am to 5:00pm
Saturday 7:30am to 5:00pm
Sunday 7:30am to 2:30pm

I am worried that I will not be fit enough and will hold everyone up
Again, I can totally understand this concern. Although please do not worry about it. Easier said than done I know.
I cater for ALL fitness levels and I truly believe that we should all work together as this creates an extremely supportive environment.
I give modifications in ALL my classes. Some guests have been before, modified EVERYTHING and are still amazed at how effective this was. Do not ever feel bad for modifying…EVER! Just look at the testimonials for proof!
Do we still Nordic Walk if it rains?
Yes! The only time we would not walk is if it was stormy or severe winds.
Always check the forecast before you come and bring suitable clothing.
What do I need to bring with me?
Lots of gym kit and a towel! It is up to you how often you change. There are limited showers and changing facilities at the venue.
I don’t bother changing during the day as I like to save on washing!
  • You will need a warm top for when you are listening to any talks as you will cool down
  • A spare pair of trainers and socks –  if you don’t want to get your new ones muddy on the walks.
  • A water bottle.
  • Hat and gloves (in the colder months)
  • You will need a small rucksack if you want to carry water on the walks as you will be holding your poles!
  • Some guests bring a blanket of their own but these are provided at the venue.
  • Don’t forget your sports bra!!
  • A sense of humour and an open mind!
Is it for women only?
No, there are more women but men are very welcome. There are usually some men on every retreat.
Sometimes they are dragged by their other halves, but they always end up enjoying it!
Can I walk to the Retreat from my accommodation?
This depends on where you stay. The two closest hotels are only 1.4 miles away.
Some people walk and some drive. There is usually enough people staying at the same venue with cars, who offer lifts to the people who don’t!
There is parking for a few cars at the venue but we do encourage people to walk or car share from where you are staying.
What if I don't like the juices?
It is a juice and soup retreat. A lot of people who have visited do already juice but there are quite a few who have never tried it.
Stay open minded. We will not provide food if you decide the juices are not for you.
Trust that you are getting plenty of high quality nutrition to sustain all the activities.

I am allergic to Pineapple
It’s not a problem if you are allergic to any fruit and veg ingredient. Please do be sure though to let us know beforehand and we can make adjustments. This is however not a pick and choose menu and just not liking something will not result in changing a recipe.
You will be amazed that you can hardly taste your least favourite vegetable…so enjoy!
