This is usually the time of year where things wobble.
Not because you’ve “failed”.
Not because you’re not committed enough.
But because the newness has worn off and real life has come back into the room.
Mid January is famous for it.
And next Monday even has a name for it… Blue Monday 🙄
Honestly? I’m not a massive fan of labelling one day as the “most depressing of the year”… but I do think this time of year can feel a bit heavy for lots of women.
The excitement has dipped.
The weather’s doing its thing.
Motivation isn’t shouting quite as loudly.
You may not even have got started…and thats ok.
But this is usually where people decide…
“Ah well… I’ll start again properly another time.”
But here’s the bit I really want you to hear…
You don’t have to give up just because it feels harder.
This is where consistency actually lives.
Not in perfect weeks.
Not in the high energy days.
But in the choice to keep showing up…imperfectly, messily, honestly….even when you can’t be arsed.
A walk still counts.
A short workout still counts.
Drinking more water still counts.
Choosing something nourishing still counts.
And if you’ve done any of that recently, I hope you’ll let yourself feel a bit of chuffedness about it. Most people skip that part entirely.
So as we head towards Blue Monday, my gentle challenge to you is this…
Don’t write yourself off.
Don’t overcomplicate things.
Don’t wait for Monday, February, or “when you feel more motivated”.
Just ask yourself…
“What’s one thing I can do today that future me will be quietly grateful for?”
You’re not behind.
You’re not doing it wrong.
And you’re definitely not doing this alone.
